Dr. Greg Daley DMA is a Doctor of Music Arts and has studied and taught Music Theory for decades. He studied at Berklee College of Music and The New England Conservatory. This is a LIVE class online via Zoom. (Although it may be Google Meet) Other online courses like this either don't exist or are very expensive.This course will be capped at 10 students. With 10 Students, the price for this will be only $40.00 for the entire course, which will be 1 hour a week for 4 consecutive weeks.
Prerequisites
Must be 13 years of older
Intermediate proficiency on their instrument
Sight reading is not required, but the fist thing we will do in our first class is understand the Grand Staff. It's not necessary to be an excellent sight reader, but the standard staffs and notation must be understood

The time will be 2:00 sunday MDS- Mountain daylight saving time. And will start when I have 10 student's booked. There are only 5 spots left!

Syllabus
Understanding the staff of your instrument and the grand staff. It is not necessary to be a great sight reader, but an understanding of standard notation is required to understand music theory
Major and minor scales
Intervals
Diatonic chord construction as triads and 7th chords
Learning the 7 diatonic chords of Major and minor keys
Keys and the circle of fifths
Chord function and writing a chord progression, as well as learning to analyze progressions from simple songs
Time signatures and how to count beats properly .
Cadences, if there is time.
More advanced theory, the fun! stuff, will have to wait for the next level intermediate course. Such as Secondary dominants, improvisation, melody writing etc.
